Ok first off i understand the constraints on discussing medical issue etc but i wont be going into specifics. On Wednesday i had a consultation with a consultant re an issue, he said i need to lower dose of one particular med, when i suggested i would talk to my GP about this he scoffed and rolled his eyes, said he take care of it. So he explains what i need to be on and hands me a prescription in typical doctors handwriting, i ask him to go through it with me and he dismisses me with a wave of the hand saying the pharmacist will understand it. Anyway i get it off my pharmacist, but i need copy of prescription for work so he gives back to me and somehow i manage to lose it on way home. I email consultant asking to re issue a copy, no bother they do so by email but i notice that they have not included a med that was on the original, i email the office again and explain this, they reply no you should not absoletly take that medication, this is Friday evening so too late to contact consultant until next Tuesday. Im at a loss as to what to do, on Wednesday im told to and prescribed a particular med and 48 hours im told on no condition should i take it. Any suggestions??

Go to your GP- if not available speak to your chemist - they’re incredibly qualified and knowledgable and they will be able to determine best course of action for you until you can speak again to your consultant

Also do you think you interpreted correctly what your consultants office said about not taking the medication? Had you taken it before?

Even if you have just explain the whole story again to the chemist - seriously they’ll know what to do

    I’m very confused by this.

Talk to your GP and pharmacist and don’t take something that the consultants office has definitely told you not to take.

    Errors can happen.

Ya going to chemist shortly, i definitely didnt misinterpret what consultants office said and have in fact since found the original prescription with medication listed which he later said not to take.

I don't go near my consultant if i need a copy of my prescription I can get copies straight from the pharmacist. I know different medical conditions have different situations but with my own I'm done with my GP for good. I see the consultant every 3 months and she might alter the prescription. If she does she e mails direct to the chemist and I pick it up the next day.. I know this is just my own experience but yours seems quite convoluted and I'd be annoyed if I was you.
