The drum of my washing machine is loose, shakes about, wont engage with the drive to turn it.

    model wwdc 4306

any ideas if an easy fix, or a new machine?

I would guess that the bearing is disintegrated and the resulting movement caused the drive belt to slip off.
The bearing should be cheap, stripping down the drum is straightforward if your handy but a good bit of work.
Since it’s already broke, there is no harm in stripping it down now and investigating what’s wrong with it.
