Incapacitated child tax credit

    Hi

I just got incapacitated child tax credit added and I have received statements of liability for the previous years.

I noticed that 3300 for the incapacitated child tax wasn't added on the previous years instead for example 2021 €804 was added for incapacitated child tax, 2022 €1739 was added.

Just wondering why this is as I thought they would add €3300 for each of the previous years.

    Thank You

Maybe your tax liability was low enough, that you couldn't use the full amount of the tax credit?

The credit is given to you but if it reduces your tax liability to nil they just give you that amount.

You're entitled to the full thing but Ireland doesn't have refundable tax credits for any unused amounts.
