Wasps nest question

semi Detached house. kitchen vent attracted a bunch of wasps on the side of house and looked like were so many there had to be a wasps nest in the vent somewhere. The vent was kind of open so easy for them to get in..

I stuck on gloves/balaclava/hat/long shirt and took off the vent for a look but couldnt see anything. However it looked like the gap in the wall inside is where they are. Ok. Up to the hardware, got a can of wasp nest killer. Emptied the can into the gap. Got a new vent with wasp/fly grille so they cant get in, screwed it in, used sealant around the sides. no way in for wasps. Sprayed the outside with vinegar as recommended to deter any wanderers..

that was 10 days ago today. Now every day since then we're finding 20-30 dead wasps on our kitchen window sill on the inside. The vent on the inside could be letting them in if they were in the wall already.

the question is why? all the notes I can find online is that they only last 1-2 days once you spray wasp nest killer. this is 10 days later and still found 15-20 dead wasps on the window sill inside today.

How long does that go on for?

We had a similar issue where wasps found a gap in an external vent for flooring and made a nest under the floorboards.
We dumped a few buckets of sand over the hole, and closed off the room as it was spare.
We found dead wasps on the inside windows of the room for about two weeks after.

First thing to do is call a professional beekeeper and they will dispose of them. Then see how much damage they did. Wasps are nasty, its not just wood they chew, they can also cut through concrete blocks. It has to be seen to be believed.

MMop up the rest of the wasps with a jam jar with a hole slighly bigger than 5-8mm. Fill the jar with Beer and watch them jump in.
