    Due 11 October.

Looks like a fantastic set - 18 CDs and 2 BDs.

Also has 5,000 word essay from Colin Harper who was also involved with the Horslips box (they also have a BBC set coming out in the coming months).

Best price is Amazon Germany. For some reason the UK pre-order prices have gone crazy in recent months.

I've been listening back to him again like crazy. Time and again I come back to him over the last 20 odd years and I get that hit of pure positivity. He was a force of nature Rory.

Looks great, fairly expensive though. I was hoping they were going to do a Blueprint reissue after the Deuce set but the 50th anniversary was last year so it has missed the timeline.

Amazon France has the best price; per disc it’s good value albeit they should provide cardboard sleeves for the CDs. The Faces BBC set has half the number of discs but isn’t that much cheaper.
A Blueprint set would be good; not sure how well Deuce did. Price went as low as £35 during the summer.

I picked up the Duece set for around that price. Have most of Rory's 70's output on CD already but that was my first time getting one of his reissues. Blueprint is one of my favourites though.

Really looking fwd to this. Also, interesting to hear OP about the Horslips plans. Any more info?

Tower have the Rory box for €150. I had a discount code for TheRecordHub so went with that - not sure if they post in advance of the release date. Unlikely I assume

Latest update re Horslips at the BBC from Colin H was 4 weeks ago

“Spring 2025, Magic - the label's schedule became rather packed. The format has changed - it will be two releases, and we're very excited about them. Eroc's mastering has elevated one section of the content to a level we hadn't anticipated. Fans will be delighted, I promise!”

Got this on vinyl for €60 delivered from Amazon Germany, Happy with that.

Good price for three LPs but only a fraction of the musical content, 40% of the essay and no video material. If the big box was €60 would you have bought it?

Sorry but I just don't get that attitude. I've bought vinyl every couple of weeks for the last 43 years but there are times when CD is the optimum delivery method - particularly for a project like this. Ultimately it's all about the music. There's room for the two formats, both have their advantages and disadvantages - you don't have to stick with one. Did you recently start buying records again after a long absence? Most of the anti-CD sentiment comes from that space.

what attitude? I don’t have any anti CD sentiment as I have a large CD collection built up over the years so I quiet enjoy the format. just can’t afford to double buy at the moment so I go with vinyl. I never got into Blu-ray. But there’s nothing worse than someone telling me how I should or shouldn’t buy and listen to my music but each to their own.

Picked up the cd version - even though I don't own a Blu-ray player. Will take ages to work though - hours of happy listening ahead. First impression is that it is a super box set. Large format book housed in a proper sturdy box. Cds also packaged really well. Sounds great on my player so far. Well worth picking up. Delighted Donal & Co put this out.

Went with Amazon France in the end but order stuck for last few weeks and now says 1-2 months for delivery. Cancelled it & ordered from Tower Records, posted today. Seems to be selling well, get it while you can.

My Tower Records order arrived a couple of days ago.

Hefty set. Started with the 1980 Reading Festival discs. My late cousin Mickey was at that & raved about Rory’s performance for years. Going To My Hometown & Moonchild are particularly evocative. So I raised a glass to both of them as I played it.

At present, the official Rory Gallagher site, Burning Shed, Golden Discs, JPC, Tower Records, HMV, Amazon UK, USA and Germany are sold out. Amazon France, Italy and Spain only have marketplace sellers with copies from €350+ upwards, Amazon Canada has one copy, Amazon Japan has one copy and Discogs has four new copies priced between €190-€300. Either they underestimated demand or else it's flown out.

Fair play to the compilers for a wonderful set delivered in the most practical and cost-effective way possible.
