Any way to have a 7 seat commercial 4x4??

I have a nissan pathfinder 7 seater that I use for work.

I would like to convert to commerical for use with my watersports business, but a large part of my business involves running river trips, and transporting participants to the locations makes the seven seats incredibly useful.

Is there any possible way to convert the vehicle to commerical without loosing the 7 seats?

I'm going to have it wrapped for the business too, and it just seems absurd to have it stuck as a domestic vehicle when it's clearly not. As a domestic vehicle the tax is over €1000 which is also absurd!

    Thanks for your help

Fairly certain you would need to convert it to a 5 seat crewcab in order to get the cheap tax. You may need to look at a minibus type vehicle if you want cheap tax and 7 seats

No commercial means you are carrying goods / tools which you aren't with a 7 seater .

Maybe classify as a limo / taxi as Said already .

Never knew pathfinder was big enough for 7 seats

It won’t meet the load area requirements for a commercial. A minibus is your only man.
I know you can put commercial tax through as a business expense, I wonder could you do the same with your current tax rate? Worth asking your accountant anyway.

Apparently laws changed in March you cant convert anything back to crewcab now. Hoping someone on here knows a loophole. I want to bring a jeep from England and pay the vrt to 7 seats and convert it back then Apparently it can't be done anymore.

What do you mean “pay the vrt to 7 seats”?

I think it’s Edna’s first day on the internet. With the gibberish he types, I don’t want to see him behind the wheel!

    No chance with the pathfinder.

Only 7 seat commercial vehicle that'd suit would be the big crew vans or tippers. Some are 7 seaters, some only 6.

Have you got a C1 or C license? If you get the MAM uprated to >3500kg with driver plus 8, I don't think there's any other category it can be, open to correction.

To have a 5 seat crewcab commercial in Ireland with a jeep imported from England. You would first have to clear the jeep as a 7seat car and pay Vrt. Then you have to do a second step and take the back two seats out and get the tax book changed to N1 5 seat.

It's this second step you can't do anymore. You can't change a private jeep with seats in the back to a commercial n1 5seat.

You can only change it from private 7seat to a 2seat commercial.

You could change it to 2 seat before VRT and get 13% VRT. Not sure about now

Ya you can still do that is far as I know. But I need the seats in back for a child seat they just handy in general. Just going to have to wait until something clean comes up for sale that's already done. Likes or Amarok, L200, ford ranger are still fine to bring in as crewcab. But I don't like the pickup I'd rather a lwb shogun or Range Rover.
