Barge boards, gap to slates

Currently replacing timber barge boards on ends of a cottage. There is a gap between the new barge and underside of slates. (Nothing on cottage is straight, maybe I didn't notice previous gap when looking at it from the ground)

Any suggestions for a product to close/deal this gap? Barge boards are now temporarily screwed in place
