In the market for a small automatic and with my budget etc will probably be a jap import. Based in Galway but considering travelling East as value seems better. I have shortlisted a few cars in the following garages but would love if anyone had any experiences of these garages (good or bad) that they could provide? The garages in question are Berkeley Motor company in Louth, ZWL Autos in Meath and Carland in Dublin? Alternatively if anyone had good experiences of other garages specialising in jap imports they could share that would be very useful. Thanks

I got my Vitz from pth.ie (formerly Easy Autos) in Santry. Very good experience overall and the owner was great dealing with.

Just remember if your buying from a dealer far away from where you live then in most cases you will be responsible for getting the car back to them to fix anything under warranty. Many people don't even think of this until they have an issue or the car is undrivable and then realise it's too expensive, too far or too inconvenient to get to the car back there which can wipe out any savings versus paying a little more from a garage closer to where you live.

My advise is find the car you want or like first and then research the dealer selling it.

thanks @bazz26 for your comments. The car will be for my daughter and she will be based in Dublin so it actually probably makes sense to buy it from somewhere closer to Dublin. I have found cars in each of the above garages and have read reviews online but to be honest I always wonder if those reviews are genuine hence sticking the question up here too. I will take a look at other too thanks @midnightblue

I have bought 2 cars from Ace Autos in Naas in the past 3 years, great lads to deal with.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I am thinking of buying from Kearys Carstore and they have bases in several areas. Made a few enquiries and they seem nice to deal with. Plenty of automatics too.

I was on to them a few weeks ago. A lot of dealers are providing third party warranties with the likes of Mapfre, Kearys will sort any issues in house they told me.

Haven't bought a car from them so I've no information other than the above

I've had a very good experience dealing with Eve Autos in Kilcolgan, Galway.

Excellent selection of good quality Japanese imports - I bought a Toyota Camry in February and car was well presented.

I bought a automatic jap import (she chose a nissan note) for my partner to learn in from https://www.eastcoastcars.ie/ in slane just over a year ago and found them good to deal with, they replaced the radio/infotainment system on it also at my request and seem to keep a lot of stock.
