nobody can give medical advice here, but as a person who has had cardiac issues, I can say that it is pretty important for you to get checked with a GP.

It is probably a virus, but doctor will want to eliminate intrinsic cardiac, lung or other issues. I have MS and am very prone to aspiration pneumonia which gives rise to these symptoms, but mine is quite the unusual situation.

Make up your mind to make an appointment. They will be asking the following info, and you could monitor yourself in this respect over next days:

Is your temperature normal? Do take your temperature 3 times a day from now so to have this info.

What colour is your sputum? Eg if it slightly pink, note that.

Do you have swelling in feet? If you do, show that to doctor.

Do you get dizzy or faint during fluttering episodes? If you do, make note for the doctor.

This should be enough info for your doctor to make an initial assessment, especially if you are a guy who has studiously avoided the doc 🤣

    Best of luck

My experience with strange flutterings in my chest landed me in A&E thinking it was a heart attack. It wasn't. They found nothing. I did a bit of research and found that low magnesium could cause my symptoms. Started taking a supplement and the flutterings stopped. I just take one a couple of times a week now and all is well. So you could try that. But definitely go to the doc too. Or have you been? How did it go?
