Solar clipping. Potential new install

I am looking for some advice as I am getting some conflicting information from various installers on a new installation.

I am looking to install a PV system with hybrid inverter and 5.12kWh battery on an east-west roof split. A couple of companies have quoted me for 20 (435w) panels with a 5.5kw inverter and 5.12 kWh battery. Another installer has said that due to solar clipping the max number of panels should be 18 with a 5.5kw inverter and 5.12kWh battery.

I went back to the first two companies and they said 20 panels will be fine for my system and I will have no problems. Could someone point me in the right direction to what I should be fitting. From my understanding of solar clipping this is where the panels could produce too much energy for the inverter. What happens then, does it shut down until the energy has reduced or does the inverter keep converting the current to the maximum capacity of the inverter.

    Thanks for any advice

Clipping is when the extra potential power isn't generated

    There is 8.6kWp on a 6kW inverter

Demonstration of clipping, possibly a peak of 7kW would have been possible. The amount actually not generated, maybe 1kw over 3 hrs would only be 3kWh,

Now that's on a non hybrid inverter,

If on a hybrid, on say a 5kW that you can get now, and you have a battery, 5kW could leave the inverter and 2 kW could go to the battery (if there is space in the battery for it)
