Snag list review self build

    Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice and recommendations. We have a completed self-build in the Wicklow area and need to get a snag list survey done. Ideally, we want someone who can also check that everything matches the original spec without any major discrepancies. Has anyone had a good experience with an engineer or surveyor in this field? Your suggestions would be really appreciated!

    Thanks a lot!

If it is a self build, who are you going to issue the snag list too?

Presumably the OP didn't literally build the house themselves but rather hired a builder, that's who the list would go to if there are issues/discrepancies.

Aware of that but a self-build is usually understood to be direct labour. That's what I assumed from the post.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear in my post. It was a contract led builder who built the house. We would give the snag list to him.

why not ask the person signing off on the build and certifying it in compliance with the spec and planning/building regs?

The architect didn’t snag it. We would like an independent person to review it.
