power charger for mp3 player

i have an old mp3 player ,the manual says charger is usb output 5.5 volt 900ma ,

can i plug it into my pc usb port. usb 2 output 5volt 500ma .

will it charge the player safely without causing damage to it.

is there anywhere bricks and mortar shop where i can buy a 5.5volt charger usb ,old usb standard .

not usb c.

USB should be power safe. Your laptop/PC should be able to charge your MP3 player with the right cable. So long as the laptop/charger provides power on the port. Or any USB charger with the right cable. Whatever fits the charger output and MP3 player input.

You probably have loads of cables, adapters, chargers lying around or a family/friend will have. Failing that, curries, did, powercity, any electrics shop will have the right chargers/cables. Bring your MP3 player along to make sure they sell you the right stuff.

from looking at the photo the charger is polarity solid unbroken line on top

of bottom line broken 3 tabs

I charged it with a 1amp 5v phone charger

its 5v ,900ma, works fine on a 5v 1amp phone charger
