Watched the first one and really enjoyed it a nice fun episode.

I read a review saying it was quite tamed down. I loved the movie. No talking down to kids. Plenty of creepiness/violence in a 80's family friendly way.

I must admit that I was a bit "Meh" about that trailer. I do think there is opportunity for a good series. I have no problems adapting/remaking. But (And this may be just me) I found the American accents a bit jarring. I think think of the movie as being SO British/Python that the American accent seems out of place.

(Without clicking on the Cleese link above I can STILL hear him going "What AWFUL people". lol)

Watched the first 2 episodes and really enjoyed it. They've made it a bit more family friendly compared to the movie but overall that's a minor quibble. Looking forward to the next episode

Only watched the first episode and liked it, without completely loving it. It definitely doesn't have that scrappy DIY sense of the original film - though that might simply be the nostalgia speaking. The actor playing the kid was cute and annoying without being actually annoying, if you catch me.

Caught the second episode and it's growing on me without being exceptional; the comedy feels a little forced at times and like it needed a second pass ... but still keeps a wry smile on my face so a net positive experience.

Lisa Kudrow and her wardrobe is really channeling a bit of the Doctor (Who) for me, albeit a more díckish variety. Her costume kinda screams Doctor and I've found myself thinking huh, she might have worked better than Jodie Whitaker.

Yeah, the more I'm watching Kudrow swan about in that officer's coat the more I'm thinking the BBC really missed a trick not even talking to her; if she was ever on a list, her nationality probably counted against her but as you say, she's a naturally quirky performer.
