    12100 & h610

    5600 & b450

Is about 50GBP more expensive for the Intel. Does the Intel justify the increase from a gaming POV?

The 5600 has 6 cores, the 12100 has only 4. So the 5600 is much better for anything that needs more cores, but everything else, there'll be no visible difference. Both motherboards are older chipsets, only PCIe 3.0 on them. Unless the Intel one is much better spec'd otherwise, and I doubt it, I don't see where the price difference is justified. There is a more subtle difference that the Intel one supports DDR4 and 5, but the Ryzen only supports DDR4.
