    guys,

What’s stopping this going through an NCT that you can think of?

Assume that the chassis is fine, no rust etc (it was recently stripped and galvanised).
engine has been changed from a 1.3 to a Swift 1.6.
There’s a winch, some led bars but the wider track wheels/tyres is what’s jumping out at me.
what’s the rules around those? Flared arched have to cover them? Or just swap it onto a set of OEM for the test?

Are they spacers on the wheels or just a wider set of wheels?

I’ll enquire. They may very well just be spacers. Wheels don’t look much wider than OEM.

Yeah they don't seem excessively wide so could be a set of spacers (take off for the nvt if worried). Also not sure if there's a lift kit put on it to take into the 235/75/R15 tyres?

deffo a lift kit alright. That should be ok for nct though yeah?

maybe the tyres aren't exactly "road" legal ? in know i saw something before with off road use only so maybe that could be an issue ,has the engine swap been declared ?

not sure if there is tint on the front screen but it kind of looks like there is so that could be an issue if there is and front sides if too dark

if this can get a nct ,dont see much of an issue with the above !https://www.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/suzuki-jimny-fresh-nct/36296093

The winch at the front looks like it could be a fail as it's something sticking out that could cause injury to a pedestrian or a passer-by

Wheels outside the arches will fail. Swapping for a narrower set just for the day of the test will be handier than bolting on over-arches etc.

Will swapping wheels for NCT lower the headlights? If so check they won't be a fail.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Best course of action would be to NCT the car and see what it fails on. I think the lift kits and major modifications might need an engineers report in order to pass

Possibly the best way to deal with it tbh

Let them tell me what’s wrong 😂

Id agree - send it in and see what happens.

From experience if the Ncts machines can read those lift kits and they pass on their machines it wont be an issue.

Ive even seen some pass with wheels that come out past the arches - as long as theres no spacers and the wheel bolts have enough length on them to keep the wheel secure.

OP - Send it in and post back the pass or fail report.

The wheels will fail if the thread is outside the wheel arch and I'd imagine the winch will fail for pedestrian safety, sharp object or something along those lines but to be honest I'd put it through the test and see how it goes
