Hi, just wondering if anyone has applied for a UK state pension via the application for the Irish contributory state pension, i filled in the relevant form last February and received confirmation my application for the Irish state pension was successful, i've had no contact at all with the UK pensions office to confirm if they received an application and there are only a few weeks till i reach retirement age, i was wondering if it's usual for UK pensions to leave correspondence so close to the retirement date?

    Thanks.

    Yes,

It took a while for me to actually get it, I can't remember if they back valued it to 65 but I got a decent lump which I wasn't expecting which was welcome

My retirement date is this weekend, still haven't had any correspondence from the UK pensions dept, still don't know how much my pension will be, where or how it will be paid or even if they received the application, tried ringing their number today but was left hanging for too long and gave up.
