Why are these so cheap, 4500 5000 gets you 225 4wd. Saw one just NCT'd and he wants 4500 with 98k miles on it. All standard car.

This one had main dealer service until 90,000 and done 10,000 miles only since 2017.

I'm damn tempted but wondering why they so cheap?

Because they are of a certain age and have fallen into the in-between zone, they are not yet old enough to become valuable as a €56 a year classic when they hit or start to close in on 30 years old, but considered to be too old for daily use, so values fall off for several years before climbing again later in their life cycle (if they survive).

I only get a tank of petrol once every 5 week, I'm damn tempted, my 07 1.4 golf needs work every year for 80nhp, why not try 4WD i thinking ! Never had a 4WD, get around 2000 for my golf, so might only cost me 2000ish to change.

I'd be wanting to get it tuned a bit, 250-260 with air filter and ECU tune seems doable???

Its not really 4WD. Its front wheel drive with the occasional bit of power being sent to the rear wheels. A TT of that vintage will require just as much if not more work than your Golf. Very impractical car too, but definitely more fun to drive than your Golf

Yes, exactly, same general maintenance and much more poke.

And more grip and something a bit different too.

Guessing it would feel a bit like a mk5 Golf GTI?
