My WiFi setup is a mess - any advice to streamline it?

    Hey - About 4 years ago I got Vodafone Fibre. It was a messy temporary setup just to get things going and I would tidy it up later. 4 years later and I am getting around to it!!

    The fibre cable comes to the ESBN meter box and in through the wall at one end of the house. All the living is done at the other end of the house so I need to get the WiFi up there.

    This is what I have currently done;

    Cable comes in from the meter box to a Huawei Highlife ONT.
    Goes from there to a tp-link extender and then into a tp-link router.
    From there it goes to a Vodafone modem in the centre of the house.

    Surely there has to be a cleaner/tidier/better way of doing this?

    The stool. The bungie cord. *chefs kiss".

    Seriously though, it looks like you have ont to home plug than the home plug goes to wifi router which goes to vodafone box? Wouldn't if work if you got rid of the wifi router, unplugged the home plug connected to the wifi router, and put that next to the vodafone box?

    You can basically dump everything bar the vodafone router and just plug that directly into the ont.

    Unless you have issues with wifi signal etc.

    Plus that powerline is cutting your speeds in half. I assume you're on the 500meg package and with powerline you'd only be getting around the 160-200meg speeds. Its a limitation of powerline technology regardless of the network adapter installed in it.
