Hi, I have an Eir broadband sim card which had 20 euros credit but i did not choose a pass which resulted in me running out of internet after 6 day.I would like to know how to top up the sim card and choose a 30 day pass. Hope someone can help me here.

eir prepay mobile broadband plans are very outdated. Don't buy them. For €20 you only get 20 GB and it won't automatically activate the plan as eir classifies them as addons not plans, you got to ask eir agent to activate it for you every time or else it will eat up the credit.

Instead buy a normal eir €20 prepay sim card or on 30-day rolling contract which are designed for a phone. Both give you 120 GB, automatically activate. All that you need to do is put sim into the phone first and turn off sim pin code if you are using a dongle.

I have the 20 euro montly unlimited data deal for my phone but for movies i like to view them on my smart TV and i also like using my laptop for viewing YouTube and other video platforms. The broadband data only sim is in a router not a dongle, it's designed for broadband Internet and once that has credit in the sim it allows me to have internet for my smart TV and my laptop via WiFi. l checked out the Eir website and they have a 50gb monthly pass which needs to be topped up every 28 days. I only watch two movies a week so 50gb is enough for me.

Being a SIM, is there an associated phone number? If so, could you top it up from within your online banking facility?

AIB lets me send credit to top up any mobile number.

Dougle, router same thing. As I said. Those eir data only sim plans outdated. For 50GB you got to pay €30 . It's too expensive.

Get eir sim, normal €20 plan for calls, texts and data. Remove the pin code. Then put it into your router. You'll get 120GB.

"I have the 20 euro unlimited data deal for my phone"

Why not just use the phone's hotspot to connect the TV / laptop?

I solved it. I tried Robbiepax suggestion and it worked. I turned off the pin code on the sim in my phone then i put the sim into the router and now i have Internet on my TV and laptop. I have two weeks left on the 20 euro data, calls and texts deal so when it's up in 2 weeks time i simply lt choose that deal again. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.
