Plaster and wall question.

I have a plaster on site at the moment and he is plastering entrance walls. I had a cord at the bottom of two piers right up to the centre of the caps for lights. I see now that I cannot pull the cord from the top that would allow me to bring the electrical cables up to the lights. The plaster is preventing it. I had two 25mm drill holes on the piers originally to bring the cord through the piers and out up at the caps.

What can I do to make this work? Drill small holes around the cord hoping that the plaster preventing the cord moving will break off so that the rope can move freely again?

Hopefully this is an easy fix? Should I get the plasterer to sort?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, either have him take a look or drill at the point where the cord is installed. You might need to replace the cord (cable?) afterwards if the insulation is in any way damaged.

Its actually a rope I have, sorry shouldn't have stated it as a cord. I drilled a 25mm hole into the piers originally to be able to tie a wire onto this rope and pull it up to the top of pier where the lights would be installed.

try tapping around where the rope enters the plaster with a hammer & cold chisel, if you use a drill you will likely make sh1te of rope, that might free it up if not drill & a new rope
