Is this spade handle supposed to be ergonomic or is it faulty??

Bought a True Temper spade recently and I only noticed when it was lying flat that the handle seems to be skewed to the direction of the head.

Is this ergonomic design or did I get a faulty one?

I'm assuming the former as it seems ok to use, but maybe I'm just compensating for the angle without realising 😂

I guess if it's usable it's fine, but more of a curiosity if it's by design

Looks faulty/bent I reckon as spades don't come in specific right and left handed versions.

That's said the handle length isn't adjustable is it and fixed into to a non square position?

I've been putting my own handles on tools for years. I even make the odd custom tool with a particular handle length for a specific job and I've never found any need to put a handle on anyway except inline with the tool head.

Go back to the shop and check the same item as on sale.

If they are all straight you have a case for a replacement.
