No The Marian Finucane show was also one hour but during the summer months The Finucane show and Pat Kenny show were merged into one 2 hour show from 9 till 11 with a substitute host

At least you could see vestiges of BBC Radio 4 type programming in that schedule. You could say it was a cross between Radios 2 and 4 - much more so when you look further back, into the 1990s. It seems more towards BBC Radio Five Live these days with phone in and talk rather than structured programmes around a topic. Personally, I miss the Thomas Davis Lectures and some of the drama that used to be on as well as the listeners' comments programme. I've never noticed if the Thomas Davis Lectures were repeated (for example on Radio 1 Extra), they would be very well received here, if they were!
