Is a postgraduate in Building Surveying worthwhile?

I'm an Irish graduate architectural technologist and I have an option to study a level 9 diploma in building surveying as a postgraduate part time. For those working as architectural technologists, is it worth doing this course? I am more interested in the architectural design side of things and hopefully working towards chartership as my career will hopefully progress. In your opinion would this course be any addition or a waste of time. My only fear is that it is leading down the surveying route and APC chartership more than the architectural technology route. All advice appreciated.
