Apple Carplay Wifi signal - BMW 5 Series (F30) with NBT EVO

    I have a 2018 530e with NBT Evo. I enabled carplay myself and it works fine other than the wifi signal is very weak. I have to have the phone right beside the head unit for it to connect and even with a metal phone cover, it blocks the signal most of the time. Is this expected or is there something I can do to boost the signal? It would be so much better to be able to keep my phone in my pocket and still connect flawlessly.

    absolutely not normal. Should work with your phone in the boot . Google Wi-Fi antennas issues on G30 think there were issues . Your car is g30 not f30

    you most likely don’t have a WiFi antenna and need to install one.
    not a big job. I had the same on my 4 series are activating car play
