I am probably not the only one who's guessing. There are certainly better marriages.

Are Donald and Melania getting a divorce?

    Before or after the election?

Amazing there hasn't been more discussion about the absence of melania since trump finished in white House. I think she now hates trump and the whole circus that surrounds him. He also looks terrible the last few years. I think they have some sort of arrangement to keep everything quiet until after election. Its a wonder the media are not speculating about this at all

    Weak

I should think they have some pre nuptial agreement in place otherwise Melania would have filed for divorce sooner. And now that it's out in the open that Donald cheated with a known porn star, amongst others most likely, even more the reason.

I was often wondering if the bookies do take bets on their divorce?

I wonder di they have arrangement where she can see younger well even middle aged men. Trump might have looked OK in his 50s but not now, the only women that would be into him are ones like Marjorie Taylor Green, and all the oul ones that follow his circus, putin maybe give him a few russian call girls

    Were they ever really married?!

Has to be some sort of agreement where she stays and just stays out of the way and keeps up the appearance of a marriage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,842 ✭✭✭Floppybits

    Does it matter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 837 ✭✭✭techman1

Yes it matters because it reduces his credibility as a future president, if he is feigning that he is married but effectively they are split that is relevant. And if they are split why is he keeping it a secret and why are the media cooperating. If biden had split with his wife it would be a huge news story

I’d say her appearance fee for one of Donald’s political rallies is in the millions- I’ve no doubt she’s in “don’t get even, get it all” mode 🤪

Would also say it matters to his Christian base, except they don't seem to care about his rape/treatment of women.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,639 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

He's a POTUS (re)candidate, not a film star in OK magazine. His wife or marriage or lack thereof is about as relevant as his hairstyle.

They're both awful utterly self serving people who are making their living by appealing to absolute morons and sycophants.

There is no way Trump is getting divorced unless he decides he wants a younger model

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,365 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

    Well that certainly isn't true.

If she files for divorce she will have to give reasons why.

If she puts down because he is a rapist that raw dogs porn stars that may effect some voting demographics.

Not his base obviously, those lunatics would excuse his behaviour if he strangled a baby at one of his rallies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,639 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

Well we know he "raw dogs" porn stars already, thanks to one pocketing the hush money but not hushing. If she simply said he is a rapist that's unverifiable nonsense. If however she said he raped her, or her daughter or something, then that's different, as that would be an alleged crime that should be investigated.

When he loses, I can see her filing. Not before. And, the pornstar liaison is actually a rare thing - evidence of his infidelity, as it's a matter of public record due to his recently lost case. Getting a favorable divorce judgement won't be hard.

Somewhat unfortunate not more about the Johnson woman's affair came out during the trial. More evidence of infidelity.

If they were to get a divorce, I'd say it would be Melania who would take the first steps and file for a divorce.

She would have ample reasons to do so, most obvious reasons are:

He cheated on her, most likely not only once with a known porn star.

He most likely doesn't have much time for her, running a campaign, spending time in court rooms.

She's still attractive and can get any other man rather easily, than spending the rest of her life with an old guy with a certain reputation.

What's holding her back? Most likely financial reasons? And she'd most likely outlive him, so the inheritance for the wife is gone as well? ( that is if she's the actual beneficiary…)

I agree with the above, I'd say she's holding on to see what happens in the election and either white house for 4 years or chunk of change divorce. Win Win IMO. I'm an egotistical narcissist (hopefully not as bad as DJT) and I wouldn't live with myself for 4 years , so I don't know how she's doing it if the love is gone!

I always assumed that she was just waiting for him to die.

Apparently they do a bit of wife-swapping with the Clintons?💋💋💋

Aside from that would she vote Republican or Democrat? ( She is a citizen, as far as I know)

She could easily influence the outcome of the election by filing for a divorce.

Whenever Barron has his own inheritance and trust fund, etc. that he can run independently of CFTrump. I think he needs to be 21 for all this. He's only 18. So, 3 years yet. Then Melania books as CFTrump won't be able to f**k with Barron's money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,988 ✭✭✭Oscar_Madison

Nope- she needs to get the money now- he’ll just declare bankruptcy if she divorces later - he knows he needs her to help win the election - she knows that too- I’d say negotiations are well underway as to just how much that will cost him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,211 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

We'll see. I have a feeling she knows where a lot of his money is hidden so 3 years for Barron's money to be legally his. Now, I suppose she could be a trustee until he's 21 as well and that can serve to protect the kid, but this is high-stakes divorce legal stuff, way beyond my pay grade.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,472 ✭✭✭✭Grayson

I'd say that when the first election got underway she probably renegotiated the prenup. She's probably been paid a lot to keep her mouth shut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,639 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

To be honest I assumed the same. She's an attractive woman in her own right, who seems to have opinions on matters and not be afraid to voice them (infamous jacket anyone!), I have no doubt she could "do better" than DJT if she wanted to. Maybe she's not looking… or they have an arrangement… or she's just happy with him. It seems impossible to us and a little simpleminded but maybe she still loves him..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 837 ✭✭✭techman1

In the first campaign the media hated trump but they couldn't resist him because he was box office, nobody could predict what he would say.

This time the media are sort of pushing the trump is going to win angle and biden is too old narrative. I think they hate biden more now because he has been very effective in foreign affairs, helping ukraine pushing back against putin. Secretly the media being left wing do not like this because they don't want to see an outright defeat for Russia. Inoticed that they are always pushing a defeatist and negative angle with regard to anything ukraine. Whereas if trump is elected then ukraine is severely weakened along with nato and pax Americana. Most of the media originate from radical left wing movements in universities. The extreme left and right are on the same page regarding Russia and ukraine

But why would she want to "do" anything? I'd imagine she has enough wealth now to have whatever she wants and go where ever she wants. She doesn't even have to see him, why would she bother divorcing him? It's not like he's going to be living into his 100s anyway.

That's what I mean, maybe she is simply happy with their current arrangement be it whatever it is. Who are we to judge another couple anyway, if it were John and Mary down the street we'd be rightly told to mind our own business, rightly so. Unless there's some sort of crime or abuse, be it coercive control, SA, or whatever, I think we should leave well enough alone.

I asked around. Barron's old enough when he reaches 18 to run his trust. So, that's no longer a reason for Melania to hang around. Rumour has it the reason Melania took so long to move to DC was to ensure Barron's funds were funded with money CFTrump couldn't swindle.

hes highly narcissistic which means its impossible to have anything that resembles a happy functioning relationship, its impossible for either party to be happy in such a relationship, with the narcissist continually engaging in highly disrespectful behaviors including infidelity, this is how they express their deep unhappiness and ultimately self hatred, whats our evidence for this, only human history and tons of research backing so….

hes again attempting to be president for one of the most important countries in the world, for many different reasons, is this a cause for concern, damn right it is, humpty numpties behavior is a serious concern for us all, as individuals with such behavioral problems regularly and continually cause serious problems across the world, in politics and other major parts of society including the financial sector and corporate sectors!

impulsivity is common for such individuals, is that the kind of trait you want for such a position!

"They gave me an impossible task, one which they said I wouldnt return from...."

ps wheres my free, fancy rte flip-flops...?

pps wheres my wheres my rte macaroons, kevin?

"You are him…the one they call the "Baba Yaga"…

I judge my candidates for office based on their political views and tendencies, but who they choose to shack up with wouldnt be one of those.

It's entirely possible to think wow she should leave him but then you continue to vote for him, and vice versa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,439 ✭✭✭✭Wanderer78

…its all of the above is the problem with him, people with such issues have little or no moral compass, they simply dont care about anybody but themselves, and it clearly shows with trump, hes clearly unfit for the position, in fact hes one of the worst candidates ever to stand, and potentially one of the most dangerous, again due to these traits. they tend to be extremely manipulative, which trump is, he has managed to convince millions all over the world that hes the best for the job, including many irish folks, hes a classic con man, always has been…..

Hopefully not before the election, the values voters don't look kindly on any immoral things like divorce.
