Notification icon showing one unread all the time

New issue that appeared in last 2 weeks

The notification bell always shows "1" unread, and reappears even when I have clicked "Mark all read"

Any ideas? It's quite annoying as I keep thinking there is a new update.

It's an old and known issue, that's already been reported to Vanilla.

for most of the past few months for me.

It was cured for a bit but now it's back showing me 3 notifications

and also not showing me notifications for new replies on threads

I subscribe to. A bit annoying :-(
