I have a shed around 20inches from a side wall that’s visible from the street I was looking to plant something to hide it.
given it’s between a wall and shed it not have much exposure to the sun and I would not want it to go above 2.5m.
I haven’t a clue about gardening so hoping to get some advice.

I have that exact situation and have planted a row of hawthorns which are doing quite nicely. They have been in about 2and a half years, I cut the tops off them regularly so they are growing bushy - the bottoms are a bit thin but they are in serious shade, and anyway can't be seen. Currently about 2.5m and I am keeping them at that height.
