Butane for gas hob - different valve

Bought a replacement butane tank for the hob in the kitchen but it had a different fitting on top. Trying to understand do I just have the wrong type, or have the valves changed spec and I need a new regulator - any ideas? First pic is the old one, second is the new one.

You might be over thinking this? Try the old regulator again it should fit. However regulators get old and need replacing so now may be the time you still want the same type of Jumbo regulator.

Thanks that's working now, its not something I noticed before and was concerned about bending the pin in the regulator so didn't want to push it on without checking. Maybe it's just how they look when empty vs full

Sometimes they can be a total pain to get on and there seems to be not rhyme nor reason why.
