Anyone know how bad it is a typical Friday evening at Dublin airport these days?

Is it okay to turn up at 7pm for an 8:30pm flight, online check-in done, cabin luggage only etc?

Sorry, to reply to my own question - Dublin Airport website shows current security delay. I will keep an eye on this to see how evening progresses.

Bear in mind that Friday nights are considerably busier than other nights of the week

    Also depends on which terminal.

  • Its worth checking the website to see which terminal is quicker on the day and go through security there.

Last time I walked through T2 but my mate was in T1 for half an hour

Often T2 is quicker for security especially when all the US flights have departed. The website times are pretty accurate.

Just wondering what security times are likely to be next Friday morning. I'm thinking still ok, just ahead of Christmas rush?

Nobody has a crystal ball. Check out what they were this morning for an indication. Dublin airport security times is on X and Bluesky

And they have the staff to deal with it.

I fly frequently. Different times and different days. Very rarely to be queuing more than 10-15 min and usually get through under 10 min.

Why waste money on something you absolutely don't need?

Can you tell me ONE time in the last 12 months that there has been a 90 minute delay.

    There hasn't been.

Between myself and two others I work with, we probably use the airport 2-3 times a week.

We have never experienced a delay of more than 30 minutes at any point in well over a year.

You can actually buy a fast pass on the spot if you are in a real hurry and can't wait 10-15 min at busy times.

Quickest was just after 10am about 3 weeks ago - less than 90 seconds
