Web app for election maps and constituency info

I wrote a small web app a while back that might be of interest to some. It displays maps and a table of various areas relevant to elections based on entering an Eircode. This includes current Dáil constituencies, and the ones for the next general election, also council local electoral areas, among other things. You can use it without entering an eircode as well, by just moving the marker on the map.

With the elections coming up, something like this might be useful to anyone who wants to know more about the council electoral area or constituency they are in.

If you want to try it out, let me know what you think of it or about any mistakes you find.

Opened ok in chrome, but when I try to enter an eircode or drop the pin, just get "No response received from server"

Strange, as Chrome works for me. Could you try this eircode and I'll check if I can see anything wrong

Same response for that one in both chrome and edge.

It may be the firewall here, but usually it would block the whole page, not just the server call like that.

The eircode works for me on Chrome.

What does 'Small area' refer to? For me, it was only my estate and the estate beside me, so it is a small area. 😄

"Small areas" are statistical units created by the CSO and the OSI. They don't have any statutory function but are used for generating statistics at the highest possible level of granularity.

No, I started the app out for a different purpose. They aren't relevant at all for elections. I possibly should get rid of it
