The new range at Elmgreen is great , not fully finished yet , but looks like it will be a great facility. Using inrange tech too track all your shots . Hopefully won’t be too pricey when it opens fully

I was at elmgreen a lot when I was just starting so I'm very fond of the place but I did always think a tracer set up there would be ideal. I must head down and take a look when I'm next in the area

Slowly starting back to play some golf (3rd game in last 2 years due tomorrow with nothing in the prior 5 years, used to play a good bit prior to that).

Tried out the revamped driving range in Elmgreen last night. All quite fancy looking with golf simulators (not sure if trackman) and screens in all the bays but you have to rent the bay for an expensive enough €18/h which includes the balls (pathetic reduction to €16/h off peak which if I remember correctly is 10:00-16:00). Was 19:30 when I was there and all bays were occupied and booked so went with a large bucket of 100 which again is pretty expensive at €12 (medium of 75 was €10 and small of 50 was €8 so they certainly know how to charge). I have an Elm Green loyalty range card which I purchased years back, you added credit to the card and it gave you discounted prices on range balls but they weren't aware of that last night and advised it wasn't set up yet.

When getting a bucket however you have to go outside but there's only 6 matts and there was a queue for these last night also so not a great set-up after paying your money. I enquired what happens if it's raining like earlier in the week to be advised if it's quiet and some of the bays are empty you may be allowed use these but otherwise it's outside you go. Elmgreen only has something like 20 bays so was expecting something more drastic from the revamp like a 2nd storey of bays to extend the place as it's surprising that D15 given the size and catchment area only has this driving range (well surprisingly Luttrellstown Castle is also open to the public but gone expensive now also at €10 for a bucket of 60 balls but has the added advantage of hitting from grass)
