Years ago there was a garage in Clontarf, Scully Autocare, that had a qualified Volvo mechanic working with them. He was excellent and spent a day diagnosing a weird and intermittent problem I had with an S40 GDI engine. Turned out to be an unecomic repair and he never even charged me for the diagnosis or his time.

Last I heard a couple of years ago he was still there so worth checking with them.

Unfortunately Waldi (the lad in scullys) passed away a couple of years back - big loss to the Volvo community - he was a fecking genius with Volvos. I dont know of anyone else who specialises in them now.
