Soundbar

Hi there, I have an LG OLED55B8 (2018) from you and we're moving house, where I won't be able to use my existing sound setup without some significant work (all ahead of me). I'm thinking a sound bar is most convenient now, and seemingly they are quite good these days. Here are some things that I'm looking for:

• Soundbar would be mounted 30cm underneath the TV. I can chase the wall to bury a cable between soundbar and TV if that's going to get me a better unit for a lower price than paying for wireless. But with the wireless soundbars, do they use bluetooth or wifi to connect to the TV?
• Wireless sub is desirable.
• Would like to play Spotify through it, either from Android phone or Macbook without having to turn on the TV. Not sure if that's an option?
• The option to add wireless rears in the future is nice but not essential.

I would try not to go for a wireless connection between the TV and soundbar as these tend to give lip sync issues as well as they can drop out. We tend to steer clear as much as possible.
If you do go wireless then they connect via Bluetooth for getting the audio from the TV.

You could check out the Sonos Beam which has reduced to €439 today on promo. (It would need wired with HDMI to your ARC HDMI port on your TV). No wireless option with it.

You can add wireless rears and a wireless subwoofer to this to create a full 5.1 systems.
The Beam can be use to play music via the Sonos app without the need for the TV to be switched on.
(I use one of these at home myself with my 55C1 and it is fantastic).

If you wanted an all in one cheaper option then there is the LG SQC4 priced at €248 which has a wireless sub and rears.

Was reading other threads here on Richer Sounds Boards and read good things about the https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-206895-samsung-hw-q800c-5-1-2ch-dolby-atmos-soundbar-with-subwoofer.aspx?swapstore=1 - how would this compare to the Sonos Beam? Am I better sticking with an LG soundbar to pair with the LG TV, or is it fine to mix and match LG + Samsung?

I guess I'm looking favourably price-wise at the Q800C that comes with a sub for €600, vs the Sonos Beam 2 with mini sub for €900. Would you spend the extra €300?

Any other models I should factor into my consideration?

The Sonos Sub Mini or the Sonos Sub Gen 3 can be added to the Beam to add bass. The Gen 3 is a larger sub and does have a deeper sound than the Mini but the Mini is a great match for the Beam in a smaller room.

The HW-Q800C is also a great soundbar and has the added advantage of having the sub with it. You can pair a Samsung soundbar with an LG TV no problem as they connect via HDMI ARC so there wouldn't be a compatibility issue. I still think the Beam paired with one of the Sonos Subs would be a better option though especially as you can add wireless rears to it and it's much better for music as well.
