I tried to make an appointment for next week, but my dentist is on holiday, nobody is filling in.

Born 1963. Went 1974 and 1991. No fillings, all but one of my own choppers.

When I get the PRSI reminder text from the dentist.

I hadn't been in 5 years before last year when I started getting sensitive teeth. I thought I was going to have to get multiple fillings. The dentist told me I have worn enamel but no decay. This doesn't make sense to me because if you research tooth decay online enamel loss is the early stage of tooth decay. My new dentist is young and I am not sure I can trust him.

Another thing is that my hygienist said she thinks I am grinding my teeth and that I should get a mouth guard made. I then asked the dentist and he said I don't need a mouth guard. They also keep recommending different toothpastes which is conflicting information.

I am going to keep going twice a year and clean up my diet but I think we are all fighting a losing battle with our teeth. If it's not one thing it is the other. Apparently many medications can rot them too because of reduced saliva production. 90% of people on social media have pearly whites, I wonder if this colour is natural or is it whitening product. Mine are a shade of yellow.

When you experience a dental issue

Going every 6 months is madness, I should go once a year but its too easy to put if off for another time.. and that another time will likely be my next dental issue

Every 6 months but I'm in the US where this is normal (if you have dental insurance) and having crooked, stained teeth is far less acceptable lol. I'm glad of the assurance my teeth and gums are healthy and if any issues do crop up they are caught in the early stages.

The whole Irish attitude of only going to the dentist when there is a problem is what lead to me having lots of cavities as a young child which then caused issues like needing crowns further down the line. Also, impacted wisdom teeth not being removed when they should have been. My own child also goes every 6 months and so far has had zero fillings.

3 times a year. Once with the dentist and twice with the hygienist. Although this year they booked me in to see the dentist and hygienist on the same day so I just have to go back to the hygienist in October.
