I thought I'd open this thread to discuss the increase of migrant crime not only in Ireland or Europe but also worldwide

I know anything before courts cannot be discussed but perhaps past cases or views on countries badly affected e.g. Sweden could be

I know immigration and refugee talk will cross over but crimes in the other threads seems to be a no no so I thought a thread on the specific topic of migrant crime might be more suitable (if not closed straight away)

I feel it is an issue that warrants discussion

Should deportations after time served be enforced, citizenship revoked, if a serious crime committed in another country should they be left travel and settle in another country etc.,

And yes I know Irish also commit bad crimes

Investigators learned that a group of men who purportedly had "Irish accents" operated a fake construction company called "Statewide Roofing and Siding."

Police said the suspects used a fake contractor's license, performed work that was likely not needed and overcharged for work that was not complete

Praying on the vulnerable is horrible in the extreme.

Ah another chance to bash migrants. The OP didn't even try to construct an argument about the alleged 'increase' in crime by migrants, no analysis no thoughts about if there is an 'increase' what might be causing that increase. It would be helpful too if the OP had bothered to post some stats to illustrate this 'increase'.

Why focus on migrants, what's the purpose of this concentration?

It's relatively simple - but I was nevertheless bashed on another thread for saying:

I did my masters in Public Health/Epidemiology (not PH Nursing). A great deal of the modules dealt with migrancy/refugees/asylumseeking. Initially a migrant is happy to be safe, fed, sheltered. Then they look around and see a society they cannot tap into and become frustrated and angry. Eventually they often turn on the new society and identify ever more strongly with their own community or religion etc. Their health determinants drop from whatever "class" they originated from to the class or socio-economic group they're now in.

The answer is to take as few as possible and provide really wrap around services - education, language classes, training etc.

But we don't, so expect a repeat of Sweden.
