Propane gas regulator - should I replace?

Hi all,

Ive got a twin cylinder (34kg) regulator that needs to be replaced as ita pretty rusted.

We no longer need the twin,so going to replace with a single regulator.

Is it safe for me to try and replace this myself or do I need a qualified installer? Its impossible to get a plumber in my part of rural galway so thinking of doing it myself.

The gas feeds a belling cooker stove in the house.

Any advice appreciated

That regulator will need a suitable 3/8” fitting to connect onto whatever pipe is running to the cooker.

Note however that this type of work is regulated by legislation in Ireland and should only be carried out by a gas installer appearing on the register. My advice would be to persist until you get one. There could be other issues with pipework or the cooker itself which you may not be able to identify, potentially leaving a hazard.
