Pop noise after changing driveshaft.

    Hi all,

Replaced the drivers side driveshaft on my 2008 Volvo S40 after my old one had a ripped CV boot, the actual process was short and sweet.

But now when I turn left while accelerating from a stop (wont happen at all when stationary), i hear a single faint pop noise, just the one, then it stops until i make another left turn.

I googled this and seen a few things about it being a bad CV joint due to insufficient grease in the CV boots but when I got my driveshaft in the post the CV boots were already sealed, so I assumed they came pre-greased.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks in advance.

Replacement shafts are factory greased as they are sealed units.

assume everything is tight as you rechecked it again.

I had exact same problem after driveshaft change, turned out it was a panel too close to the wheel side, it was fixed by bending it to the other side.

Backing plate would be a scratching sound on rotation of wheel , long screwdriver pushed against it stopped it.
