Best midge repellant for hunting

Hi lads,

Looking for advice on what midge repellant you use for hunting (especially foxing).

My land is alive with them this time of year and Im conscious of getting winded from hundreds of yards away smelling like a citronella candle!!!!

Any recommendations?

been using smidge. Works well for me, only realised how well it was when one evening I forgot it and was destroyed by midges

Autan has been the mainstay against midges for us Germans for generations.Or oddly Avon does a line called "Skin so soft"mosquieto repellant that is an excellent mosquito ,blackfly and horsefly repellant.Neither of those smell at all.

I use DEET insect repellant plus wear Craghoppers NosiLife shirts which have insect repellant incorporated into the material.

Anyone find that Sawyer SP649 spray for sale anywhere this side of the Atlantic, EU or UK based.

Can't find anywhere in the US that will post to Ireland and the company I used to get it from on eBay UK is sold out.

Down to my last half bottle 😭

I’ve seen on other hunting forums that Avon so Soft has had something removed that used to keep the midges etc away. Anyone any experience with some freshly purchased Avon so Soft ?

Every time I see or hear the question, I think... cigarette smoke was great for keeping them away.

Having given up cigarettes over a decade ago, I've never found anything that works aswell.
