Hi all apart from the amazing beach and the pier walk can anyone recomment places to visit to do walks that would be suitable for a dog willing to travel either side of Enniscrone like Ballina/Killala etc.

    Many thanks in advance :)

My mom's side is from near Killala. Killala is best for Pubs. Ballina for Shopping is Okay. Pubs / Restaurants that are open can get pretty full.

I was in Ballina in October 2022, arriving down on an RPSI ( railway presevervation society of ireland) train with craven coaches and the passengers went to a pub restaurant The Loft. It was very busy reason Other establishments were shut.

Try Sligowalks.ie or Alltrails.com for some hiking tracks/loops. There seem to be a couple of walks in and around Enniscrone on the Sligo Walks website. If I was looking in that area myself, I'd probably try the walk around Lough Easkey or Belleek Woods

Caveat - I don't know if all of these are dog-friendly

It might be worth also asking in the Mayo forum for walks around Killala or Ballina

It's not dog-friendly (at least I'm assuming the dog would run a mile!) - but don't miss out on a seaweed bath while you're there!!
