Hey, went to get the car washed this morning. Then parked at the shops. Noticed these scratches on the bonnet of the car. Just wondering if they are fixable and whats the best way to go about it?tks

Rub your fingernail across it if it catches then it's too deep. If not you can make it look much better with a polishing compound and a microfibre applicator with some elbow grease, use a cutting compound beforehand to get better results.

If you plan on fixing these, I wouldn't be taking it to car washes while out, whether the automatic drive in ones or the ones where you have someone wash it for a tenner.

They will just scratch it more.

I went back to the car washers just now as I don't recall the scratched being there before this morning. The guy said he will buff them out for me during the week. So hopefully they sort it. He did say though that they don't wash it in the direction the scratches go.

It doesn't matter the direction the rubber whippy things wash it if there's a stone or some sand lodged in them it can scratch in any direction. Good that they said they'd buff it out for you though.
