I have a few mates coming over to Dublin from the UK for the weekend this weekend. We will be based in Stay city apartments in the centre, just wondering what would be the best under the below headings?

    Best day drinking pub

Best pub for a pint of Guinness (Nice snug or bear garden to match)

    Best sports bar

General pubs for a good night out

    Thanks Guys!

Doesn't sound like something that needs a whole scheduled itinerary. Just wander through Temple Bar and you'll find all of it: Gogarty's, The Palace, Buskers, etc.

The Brazen head is probably the best all round pub to bring visitors to. It's a lovely venue with good music, and even though it's at the end of Temple Bar it doesn't have the ridiculous prices.

Another good day is to get the DART out to Howth, great pubs all along the sea front.

Some good suggestions above eg Brazen Head. Day trip to Howth.

Depending on where you are staying another suggestion is wander along Baggot Street and see which pubs catch your eye.

Toners ticks a lot of those boxes ... beer garden for watching sport.

Keoghes will probably be packed but if the sun is out, it's a nice location, and a nice pint. Also Sheehan's, The Duke, in the same area. Also, Stag's Head.

The Glimmer Man in Stoneybatter springs to mind. Bit off the beaten track though and it been years since I was last there.

Bowes, Palace Bar, Mulligans are all decent pubs that serve good Guinness. Best stay out of Temple Bar, its a rip off. Camden Street has plenty of bars like Ryans, Cassidys, Davitts who all show sport and have reasonable priced beers

If they are here to watch the EPL Final Day on Sunday, I think the Living Room would be hard beaten for a good location for that, then you can go from there and wander up Capel Street, across to Parliament Street and into the south side
