Hi in a few weeks I'm getting a project car (US import) VRTd and it states the below text… while i'm sure that I can get a letter from a club, what does "original documentation" mean? a build sheet?

(yes I know I could ring the nice VRT folks, but I suspect that that they may not be 100% on it and it depends on who I get on the day, so I wanted to try here first)

For Vintage Vehicles: if the original documentation is not available, a declaration in respect of the vehicle particulars from an enthusiasts’ organisation or club which provides the data necessary for registration will be accepted at the centre. The letter must include year of manufacture, first date of registration year, engine size, make and model.

Blind guess would say that they mean if original registration documentation is not available.
