    Hi all

As the title suggests, Im looking for a suitable laptop that will have enough power and memory in order to properly run FL Studio.

I used to do alot of producing years ago but gave it up, looking to get back into it now and want to know what specific laptop would you suggest that will have the power to run fl studio properly for production without slowing up after a while?

    Thanks

Without a budget it will be hard to give a good recommendation.

Not familiar with FL Studio but any decent quality gaming laptop should have the type of specs required to run that kind of software.

    Have a browse here:

and when you find something you like in your price range check the full specs and get a decent review here:

Does it have to be a laptop? You'd probably get more bang for your buck if you could invest in a nice tower PC. Get something in the 1.5k range with 16GB of ram and a decent graphics card and you'd have plenty of power for the next few years of producing. This company below does pre-made computers so no mucking about designing and building a PC and comes ready to plug and play (Purists will tell you that's half the fun but not everyone is into that).

That's not a huge budget for a laptop for doing processing. Best bet is to get a refurbished job. For example:

    https://www.laptopsdirect.ie/nav/pt/laptops/mc/48361/pmlld/intel-core-i7/rmld/16gb/c/refurbished

I bought a refurbished laptop about 5 years ago from this crowd for €750 far better than it had any right to be at that price and I only replaced it when it couldn't play Baldur's Gate 3 at above 5fps. Inflation has removed some of the value from that end of the market but you can still get a decent spec laptop for much cheaper provided you don't care about a few scratches. "Refurbished" laptops mostly come from opened-and-returned or ex-business laptops that wouldn't have seen much (if any) use provided it has an A1 or excellent grade quality. I would personally avoid buying a very high end refurbished as they can sometimes be damaged from over-clocking.

    Something like this?

My son is starting third-level music production next month. He has FL and needs a laptop. Any links or advice much appreciated. I haven't a clue.
