Audi Connect Subscription

Hi, I’m picking up a, new to me, Audi A6 Avant today. I queried why the satnav wasn’t working with the dealer. It seems that I need an Audi Connect Subscription. Has anyone got this and is it worth paying for? I have an iPhone so I plan to use Apple CarPlay for most things
