internal door install at top of stairs

    Hi Folks
Wondering if someone could provide me with a bit of information on the chances of getting a door installed at the top of these stairs into an attic conversion, there is no doorway as such, the stairs just lead right into the loft so no door frame even, the height is pretty low, there would be 3 inches between the top of a standard door and ceiling, is this enough clearance to fit a door after a frame is erected? I'm thinking of installing a bi-fold door to save space. i won't be doing this myself, will get a professional in.
