How to Change This Odd Strap?

It doesn't seem to have spring pins just fixed loops. I would like to put a much wider strap than the very narrow 16mm dress strap that it came with. I can't see how to get the leather off the loops or if it's all one integrated unit.

    Anybody seen these before??

    Thanks

    Nice watch.

I've not seen one in the flesh before, but it looks like there is a push pin in the recess closest to the watch case.

Try a narrow, flat ended pin to push out the pin. Something like the tool to eject the Sim card in your phone. It should push out the pin enough to grip it with a smooth jaw pliers and extract it the rest of the way.

Then, the bar the strap is attached to should remove from the case and you should be able to slide it out of the strap lug.

I'm not sure the metal looped bar will slide out even with it removed from watch. They look like they were fitted to the strap before it was bonded and stitched closed. The replacement straps come with them fitted.

You can get open ended straps you can glue for fixed lugs which would work or with hooks which might. You have a 16/14mm strap. Don't see any straight non tapered 16mm listed but it looks like a 18/16 strap might squeeze on. I'm thinking it will mean destroying the original strap though unless you can source the metal part.

Thanks guys. It amazes me the knowledge base here! You gave me a couple good options. I never heard of an open ended strap. That seems like the easiest way to go.

It's a really great watch I got for dirt cheap from J-shop. I bought it for the Peseaux 7001 handŵind movement. The double domed crystal and enamel dial turned out to be a lot nicer than expected.

I never wear it because the 14mm end of the 16/14 strap just doesn't feel right on the wrist. Like the watch case is too heavy for it. Hopefully I can fit a 20/18 or 18/16 with minimal leather trimming.
