Tax on Used Car from dealer

Got a car from a dealer today and they have changed the ownership to myself.

They stated the car had been taxed (I'm assuming today or sometime in last few days).

My question is will I receive the tax disc in the post when the new log book gets sent to me?

Not ideal driving around with an expired tax disc and no way or proving it is actually taxed. I can't even log into the motor tax website as I don't have the pin.

Probably a question to ask the dealership on Monday. No-one here can tell you for sure but it probably all depends on the timing of the renewal compared to the change of ownership.

Yeah will ask them when they open again.

if you can check on motor tax site if the change of ownership has been notified to Shannon then you can request a reminder by email. Then you can login and tax it and keep the receipt if you are stopped.

As long as the disc is less than 3 months expired the car won’t be seized anyway!
