    Hi,

I'm an established civil servant and have recently been asked to report to someone who is only technically a half grade higher than myself with less experience in the area that I've working on.

It would be akin to asking to an AO to report to a HEO.

The person i'm being asked to report to seems OK, no disrespect to them but it seems like my previous line manager is showing uber disrespect to me with this move.

Please could you advise or if you have ever seen or encountered anything like this happening please let me know.

    Thanks,

    H

They can't be 'technically a half grade' higher. They are either substantively a higher grade or not. The experience they have is immaterial. I don't see what the issue is apart from your noise being a little out of joint.

It's a technical grade role which falls in between civil service equivalent grades. So they aren't a full grade above.
