Where to find decent fasteners/tools

I'm looking for stainless steel bolts — in this case M6 — to replace the mushy things on my Interceptor. Also a decent thread tap.

Any recommendations for a retail outlet around Dublin that does small orders of fasteners, and for decent tools that don't cost the earth? I don't want to buy this kind of stuff on Amazon, as so much stuff there is rubbish.

(Used to go to Tucks on Gardiner Street back in the day but that's no longer an option. Google searches are bringing up trade only outlets.)

Tucks are still about, I've not used them in a while.

I bought a titanium bolt kit for my bike from a crowd in Italy, I'll be installing this weekend but they look decent.

What tools are you looking for?

Thanks LJ. Didn't look for Tucks directly… assumed they were gone when they didn't come up in the search results. Will try them so.

I'm looking for a thread tap set and also for extractors. I bought a set of extractors on Amazon and they were pure rubbish. There's no way to verify the quality until it's too late.

I buy tools in Southside Motorfactors, they have a decent selection and stock Teng, Draper, Sealey and Nielson among others. They're on the Kylemore Road at Bluebell.

I looked at the Tucks website… I actually need one M6 bolt but they only sell in packs of 200. No prices given unless registered.

I wonder are there any more user-friendly options.

Hadn't thought of motor factors LJ (doh!) — might try one closer to me.

    Tools.. very vague terms.

If it's all encompassing socket set. Halfords advanced kit. Have mine 15 plus years and it's gotten a huge amount of use and abuse.

Specialist tools Irish garage equipment. decent quality stuff for specific tasks.

Don't be spending huge money on specialist kit if you are DIY. There's no value in it.

My OH bought me a snap on 3/8 ratchet for Christmas a couple of years ago, she got it through a mechanic mate and collected it Xmas eve, she said she sat in the car and cried when she saw it, had expected a lot more for the couple of hundred quidand couldn't understand my delight when I got it
