Model Cars 1/32 Sourcing

I have a friend who collects model cars (matchbox, dinky etc.). He has a significant birthday coming up and I would like to surprise him with a collectable item. Any ideas where to go. I don't want to go to a general discussion website, as I know very little about this and could easily be hoodwinked. Thanks, Tommy
